Maintenance and safety of pneumatic equipment in the bodywork repair shop

Equipment in a bodywork repair shop tends to be pneumatic. Pneumatic tools and equipment work by means of compressed air which makes the rotor go round or moves the piston of a cylinder, actioning its mechanisms. The compressed air comes from individual service lines, connected to the main network. The quality of results, the safety of the personnel and of the facilities will depend, to a large extent, on the maintenance of the network and of the individual pieces of equipment.

Duties of the Head of the Paintwork Area

There are aspects which contribute to improving the way the Paintwork Area works, without having to carry out further investments in facilities, equipment and tools. It is a question of actions connected to human relations, which should be kept most specially in mind in order to give the area greater dynamism. They can be put into action by the head of the workshop or by the person responsible for the Paintwork Area.

Vehicles

Citroën C5

The Citroën C5 has a completely new platform, which brings favourable dynamic and safety conditions. It is a vehicle with high digital technology, which stands out for its system of aid to emergency braking and for the exclusive hydraulic suspension, Hidractive 3, which adapts the height of the vehicle to the speed and to the road surface. In the C5, Citroën´s designers have considered the protection of passenger interior through the adoption of reinforced zones and a safety arch. The introductions of steel parts of different resistance and thickness, and also of aluminium parts, bring the vehicle´s weight down.

Analysis of the ABS braking system

ABS - the anti-locking braking system - which started to appear more than 20 years ago now in some top of the range vehicles, has become more widespread and nowadays, practically all vehicles have it as standard or an optional extra. The advantages that its brings to active safety are unarguable; we do, nevertheless, need to know what the system is capable of doing and how to get the most out of it.
